John "Kinno" Kinnison is a Chicago based freelance jazz musician, now residing in St. Louis, MO.
He is recognized as an influential jazz educator and performer.
Having traveled much of Europe educating and performing at "We Love Jazz" improvisation workshops with notable greats such as Benny Golson, Joey DeFrancesco, Jimmy Cobb, Mulgrew Miller, Buster Williams, Archie Shepp, Bobby Durham, Massimo Farao and Jessie Davis to name a few.
A father of six, grandfather of 14, all of which are musically inclined.
Jazz education is his focus. He has developed a cutting edge approach to jazz improv. in which he actively teaches today.
